Biography:

Born 1765. Son of John Ridout (1732-1797) and his wife, Mary Ogle (1746-1808), daughter of Governor Samuel Ogle. Lawyer. Educated in England. Married Mary Grafton Addison (d. 3/2/1807), in Prince George's County, Maryland, December 23, 1790. Children: Meliora Ogle Ridout (12/13/1791-9/14/1825); John Ridout (b. 7/14/1793); Addison Ridout (1/16/1795-8/1826); Harriet Buchanan Ridout (7/30/1796-9/1826). Died March 19, 1840.

Mayor of Annapolis, 1802-03, 05-06. Member, Governor's Council, 1800, 1812-14. Member, Board of Visitors & Governors, St. John's College, 1796-1820.
