John Ross (c. 1695-1766)

Biography:

Born c. 1695.  Married Alicia Arnold (d. 1746); children Ann Arnold (b. 1727, m. Key), Elizabeth (1730-1819, m. Scott).  Died 18 September 1766.

Deputy agent for Lord Baltimore.  Register of the Land Office.  Annapolis alderman.  Mayor of Annapolis, 1748-49, 1758-59, 1765-66.  Built "Belvior," a colonial estate built on "Wyatt's Ridge," overlooking Round Bay near Annapolis.  On September 5, 1756, his daughter Elizabeth married Upton Scott, future mayor of Annapolis.
