John R. Magruder (1829-1916)

Biography:

Born John Read Magruder, October 22 or 28, 1829.  Son of George Lee and Henrietta Sanford Magruder.  Married Emily Erving Nicholson (1833-1907) on June 29, 1865.  Children:  John Randall (1866-1899), Mary Nicholson (1868-1945), Peter Hagner (1871-1947), Eliza Nicholson (1874-1941).  Resided at 114 Duke of Gloucester Street, Annapolis, Maryland.  Died March 27, 1916.  Buried in St. Anne's Cemetery, Annapolis.

Mayor of Annapolis, 1860-63.  Vestryman, St. Anne's Church, Annapolis.
