Biography:

Born in Ireland about 1753.  Married (1) unknown; (2) Elizabeth Knapp (c. 1759-10/25/1809), April 20, 1789.  Children:  Letitia Whetcroft (b. 8/31/1771); Sarah Whetcroft (b. 3/6/1773); Frances E. Whetcroft (b. 4/19/1774); William Whetcroft (b. 4/17/1775); B. John Whetcroft (b. 4/21/1776); Ann Whetcroft (b. 1/5/1778); Catherine Whetcroft (b. 7/8/1779); James Whetcroft (10/4/1780).  Died April 20, 1822 in Utica, New York.

Clerk, Maryland Court of Appeals, 1795-1805.  Mayor of Annapolis, 1806-07, 08-09.  Vestryman, St. Anne's Episcopal Church, Annapolis, 1804-11.
