Born in Jersey City, New Jersey, August 1, 1952. Goucher College, B.A. (history), 1973; Georgetown University Law Center, J.D., 1976. A dmitted to New York Bar, 1977; Maryland Bar, 1987.

Associate Judge, District Court of Maryland, District 1, Baltimore City, July 31, 2000 to July 31, 2016. Retired July 31, 2016. Member, Public Awareness Committee, 2000-09; Problem-Solving Courts Committee, 2008-11, Maryland Judicial Conference. Member, Work Group on Self-Representation in the Maryland Courts, 2006-07. Member, Court of Appeals Standing Committee on Pro Bono Legal Service, 2010-16.

Assistant Attorney General, New York, 1983-85. Special Assistant, Public Service Commission, Assistant City Solicitor, Baltimore City, 1988-90. Domestic Equity Master, Circuit Court, Baltimore City, 1990-2000. Law clerk to Judge Betty D. Friedlander, County Court, Tompkins County, New York, 1977-80.
