Richard Dallam (1865-1939)

Biography:

Born in Bel Air, Harford County, May 11, 1865.  Son of William H. Dallam and Mary C. (Maulsby) Dallam.   Attended Harford Academy, Bel Air; graduated from the University of Maryland Law School, 1888.  Married Josephine Evans in 1892; children:  Rebecca, Mary, John, Richard.  Episcopalian.  Died April 11, 1939.  Buried in Rock Spring Cemetery, Bel Air, Maryland.

Practiced law in Bel Air after 1888.  Deputy, Baltimore Customs House, 1889.  Appointed secretary of state by Governor Lloyd Lowndes,  1896-99.  President, Harford County Fire Insurance Company (later Mutual Fire Insurance Company).  Director, Second National Bank of Bel Air.  Member, Bel Air Bar Association, Masons; Odd Fellows; Emanuel Protestant Episcopal Church, Bel Air.
