Biography:

Born in Anne Arundel County, Maryland, August 13, 1922. Son of Orlando Ridout III and Mary (McKinsey) Ridout. Attended Annapolis public schools; University of Maryland, B.S., 1942; M.A., 1978.  Thesis: "The James Brice House, Annapolis, Md."  Married to Elisabeth Prescott Lawton; two children, Mollie Ridout and Orlando Ridout V. Died August 25, 2017, in Edgewater, Maryland.

General Assembly:
House of Delegates (D), Anne Arundel County, 1951-62.

Private Career and Other Public Service:
Dairyman.  Served in U.S. Army, 1942-46.  Member, Commission to Study the Possibilities for a Governmental Cooperation for the Preservation of Antiquities; Commission to Study the Feasibility of Constructing an Amphitheater in Maryland; St. Mary's City Restoration Study Commission; Londontown Public House Commission.  Secretary, director, historic preservation officer, Maryland Historical Trust.  Trustee, Annapolis and Anne Arundel  Public Library.  Chair, Governor's Consulting Committee for the National Register of Historic Places in Maryland.
