Biography:

Born in Hagerstown, Maryland, July 10, 1922.  Son of William G. Porter, Sr. and Emilie Zeigler Porter.  Attended Hagerstown High School, graduated 1940; University of Maryland, B.S. 1949; The Johns Hopkins University.  Resided in Hagerstown.  Died July 7, 2000.

General Assembly:
House of Delegates, Washington County, 1955-58.

Private Career and Other Public Service:
Served in U.S. Army Air Force, 1943-46.  Owner and operator of Ravenswood Antique Center and W. G. Porter's Tobacco Store.  Director of Civil Defense, Washington County, 1979-80.  Member, Gaming Commission.  Member, Fraternal Order of Police; American Legion; VFW; Forty and Eight; Elks; Moose; Rotary Club, Alsatia Club.
