Born in Warrenton, North Carolina, February 4, 1930.  Attended North Carolina Central University, B.S.C., 1952; New York University, M.A., 1956.

General Assembly:
House of Delegates, Baltimore City, 1989-94.  Member, Appropriations Committee, 1992-94; Education and Transportation Subcommittee; Joint Committee on Investigation, 1993-94.  Member, Constitutional and Administrative  Law Committee, 1989-92; Chair, Subcommittee on Integrated School Curricula Concerning African & African American Contributions and Experiences.

Private Service and Other Public Service:
Served in U.S. Army, 1953-55; corporal.  Retired teacher and department head for business education, Baltimore City public school system.  Contractual professor, Morgan State University.  Member, Educational Systems for the 70s; curriculum development, 1969-72.  Treasurer, Baltimore Teachers' Union, 1969-74.  Project director, Baltimore City Teacher Corps, 1974-78.  Principal, Evening School of Dunbar High School, Baltimore City, 1980-84.  Member, Maryland Advisory Council for Individuals with Disabilities, 1993-.  Member, Urban Services Commission; Baltimore City president; Five in Five Democratic Club.  Treasurer, Northwest Civic forum.  Member, NAACP.
