Born in Richmond, Virginia, June 28, 1935.  Attended Benedictine High School, Richmond, Virginia; Virginia Military Institute, B.S.E.E., 1957.  Married; seven children.

General Assembly:
House of Delegates, Legislative District 3A (D), Washington County, 1979-86.  Member, Appropriations Committee; Joint Budget and Audit Committee.  Chair, Washington County Delegation.

Private Career and Other Public Service:
Business executive.  Served in U.S. Army.  Member, Washington County Democratic Central Committee, two years; Hagerstown Housing Board of Appeals, five years.  Chair, Washington County Economic Development Commission, three years.  President, Hagerstown Jaycees.  Member, American Legion Post #10; Hagerstown YMCA.; Knights of Columbus; Rotary; Optimist Club.  Charter member, Washington County Homebuilders Association.  Director, Washington County United Way.
