Richard Grumbacher (1914-2005)

Biography:

Born in York, Pennsylvania, April 10, 1914.  Son of Max and Daisy (Altschul) Grumbacher  Attended Mercersburg Academy, Pennsylvania.  Married to Marjorie Cohen; four children.  Died March 4, 2005, in Hagerstown, Maryland.  Buried at B'nai Abraham Cemetery, Washington County, Maryland.

General Assembly:
House of Delegates, Washington County, 1962-74.  Chair, Subcommittee on Human and Natural Resources, 1973.

Private Career and Other Public Service:
Served in U.S. Army Air Corps, 1941-45.  Trustee, Washington County Free Library.  Delegate, Constitutional Convention of Maryland, 1967-68.  Vice-president, Community Research Associates.  Board of  Directors, The Maryland Legal Services Corporation, 1983-88.  Member, Maryland Advisory Council on Mental Hygiene.
