House of Delegates, Howard, Prince George's Counties, 1989-90.  Appointed December 8, 1989 and sworn in December 19, 1989 to replace Susan R Buswell, who resigned November 10, 1989.

Private Career and Other Public Service:
Mayor of Laurel, 1980-86.  President, Maryland Municipal League.  Member, Maryland Commission on Intergovernmental Cooperation; State Fire Prevention Commission; Board of Airport Zoning Appeals; Executive Study Commission on the Maryland Fire & Rescue Institute; Governor's Task Force to Study Maryland State Police Salaries.  Executive vice-president, Maryland Jockey Club.
