Biography:

Born Robert Ennalls Powell Cannon, in Salisbury, Maryland, March 25, 1917.  Son of Daniel B. and Miriam Estelle Powell Cannon.  Attended Salisbury public schools; Salisbury State Teachers College; University of Maryland, B.A., 1939; University of Maryland Law School, LL.B., 1947.  Married to Hilda "Peggy" Taylor; four children.  Died May 16, 2010, in Salisbury, Maryland.  Buried at Parsons Cemetery, Salisbury, Maryland.

General Assembly:
House of Delegates, Wicomico County, 1951-62.  Chair, Banking, Insurance, and Social Security Committee, 1954-58.

Private Career and Other Public Service:
Attorney. Served in U.S. Army, 1941-46.  Member of the Maryland State Bar.  Member, Wicomico County Democratic Central Committee, 1996-97.  Member, Veterans Housing Committee for Wicomico County; Civil Air Patrol; Junior Chamber of Commerce; Farm Bureau; Elks; Moose; American Legion; VFW.; East Side Men's Club.  Vice-president, Maryland State Baseball Association.  Member, Tri-State Sportsmen's Club.
