Biography:

Born in Washington, D.C., March 10, 1927.  Son of George Samuel and Iverna (Cramer) Banning.  Attended Washington, D.C., public schools; Calvin Coolidge High School, Washington, D.C.; University of Maryland.  Married to Elizabeth W. Banning; six children.

General Assembly:
House of Delegates, Prince George's County, 1967-70.

Private Career and Other Public Service:
Automobile dealer.  Served in U.S. Navy during World War II.  Chair, Thoroughbred Racing Board, Maryland Racing Commission, 1979-87.  Member, Kiwanis Club.  Member, Drag Racing Hall of Fame.
