John Ashley, Jr. (1928-2005)

Biography:

Born in Centreville, Maryland, August 24, 1928.  Attended Centreville High School.  Married; two sons and four stepchildren.  Died December 19, 2005, in Queen Anne's County, Maryland.   

General Assembly:
House of Delegates, Caroline, Cecil, Kent, Queen Anne's, and Talbot Counties, 1983-90.  Member, Appropriations Committee.

Private Career and Other Public Service:
Farmer and real estate agent. Served in the 29th Infantry Division of the Maryland National Guard for nine years and achieved rank of sergeant first class. County commissioner, Queen Anne's County, 1970-78; Queen Anne's County Roads Board, 1970-78.  Member, Chesapeake Ruritan Club, Moose Lodge #831, Rock Hall Yacht Club, Kent Island Yacht Club, Queen Anne's County Sportsman Club, Queen Anne's County Historical Society, Kent Island Heritage Society.
