Biography:

Born in Berkely County, Virginia.  Married Eliza A. Yontz, 1835.  Six children.

Merchant in Williamsport, Maryland 1825-1831, 1832.  Opened store, 1838.  Purchased partner's interest and became sole proprietor, 1854.  Formed partnership with Isaac Gruber, ended 1860.  Cashier, Washington County Bank, 1859-66.  Delegate to 1867 Constitutional Convention of Maryland.   Presbyterian.  Died in Williamsport, Maryland.
