Charles F. Mayer (1795-1864)

Biography:

Born on October 15, 1795, in Baltimore, Maryland. Son of Christian Mayer. Graduated from Dickinson College, Carlisle, Pennsylvania, 1814. Read law with William Pinkney. Admitted to Baltimore County Bar, 1819. Died on January 4, 1864, in Baltimore, Maryland.

Attorney. Served in Baltimore County Fencibles during War of 1812. Maryland State Senate, Western Shore, 1831-1836; Whig. President, National Whig Convention, 1838. Manager, Maryland House of Refuge. Founder, Maryland Historical Society.
