Biography:
Born: October 28, 1860, St. Louis, Missouri. Son of Rev. Henry Edward Niles Jennie E. Marsh. Married: Mary Hamilton Waters, October 29th 1889. Four Children were born from this marriage, one daughter and three sons. His son Emory Hamilton Niles (1892-1976)would eventualy become an Associate Judge of the Supreme Bench of Baltimore City, 1938-1954 and the 8th Chief Judge of the Supreme Bench of Baltimore City, 1955-1963. Education: York Collegiate Institute, Princeton, A.B., 1879, M.A. 1882, University of Maryland School of Law, J.D. 1881. Admitted to bar, c. 1881. Formed a partnership with Oscar Wolf 1882-1906, 1912-1915. Formed a partnership with Carlyle Barton and Chester F. Morrow, firm was named Niles, Wolf, Barton & Morrow, 1921-1926, Niles, Barton, Morrow, & Yost, 1926-. Dean, Baltimore Law School, 1904-1913. One of the Founders of the City Club of Baltimore, President of the City Club of Baltimore, 1912. Trustee of the McDonough School for Boys, 1909-1915. Regent and Faculty memebr of the University of Maryland School of Law, 1913-1926. 38th President of the Bar Association of Baltimore City, 1916-1917. Died 1926
Chairman of the Mayor's Advisory Committee for relief work after the fire of 1904. Associate Judge of the Supreme Bench of Baltimore City, 1906-1912, appointed by Governor Edwin Warfield. Member, Board of Police Commissioners of Baltimore, 1912-1916. Memeber, Charter Commission for Baltimore, 1917.
