Biography:

Born Jerry Eileen McHugh in St. Louis, Missouri, July 23, 1944.  Attended Soldan High School, St. Louis; Forest Park Community College, St. Louis; University of Missouri, St. Louis.  Married to Leon N. Perry.  Died March 30, 2010, in Cheverly, Maryland.

General Assembly:
House of Delegates, Legislative District 25 (D), Prince George's County, 1983-86.  Member, Judiciary Committee.

Private Career and Other Public Service:
Housing and urban affairs consultant.  Board member, United Communities Against Poverty, 1978-; alternate board member, Washington Metropolitan Council of Governments Human Resources Board, 1981-; board member, Prince George's Chapter NAACP; second vice-president, Top Ladies of Distinction; vice-president, Largo Civic Association; member, steering committee and vice-chair of membership and nomination, National Black Women's Political Caucus.  Member, Congressional Black Caucus Brain Trust on Minority Business and Economics; National Organization of Housing and Relocation Officials; National Federation of Housing Counselors; Southern Prince George's Business and Professional Women's Club; National Council of Negro Women; League of Women Voters; Suitland Democratic Club; Prince George's Women's Caucus; Women Legislators of Maryland; Maryland Association of Elected Women.  Public Service Award, National Hook-Up of Black Women.
