Biography:

Born in Cleveland, Ohio, July 5, 1960.  Raised in Rodgers Forge community.  Attended Towson Senior High School; University of Maryland, B.S., business administration and finance, 1988.  Married; four children.

General Assembly:
House of Delegates, Legislative District 9B (R), Baltimore County, 1995-2001.  Member, Economic Matters Committee, 1995-2001; Health Insurance Subcommittee, 1995-2001; Science and Technology Subcommittee, 1996-2001. Resigned from House of Delegates, August 31, 2001.

Private Career and Other Public Service:
Enlisted in U.S. Coast Guard Reserves, 1977; reserve duty branch chief, commercial fishing-vessel division.  Attended Officer Candidate School, 1990.  Lieutenant, U.S. Coast Guard Reserves, on active duty; special assistant to Director of Reserves and Training, 1997-.  Maryland State Trooper, Maryland State Police, 1984-89.  Commercial lending and troubled-loan restructuring officer, 1989-94.  Small business owner, 1995-97.  Member, Reserve Officers Association; Maryland Troopers Association; Knollwood/Donnybrook Community Association.  Recipient of Award for Duty Beyond the Call of Duty as Maryland State Trooper, from Anne Arundel County Executive, 1985.  Outstanding Junior Officer, U.S. Coast Guard Marine Safety Office, Baltimore, 1994.  Certificate of Achievement, Maryland Federation of College Republicans, 1995.  Legislator of the Year, Alliance for the Mentally Ill, 1996.  Outstanding Junior Officer in entire Fifth District, U.S. Coast Guard, 1997.  Certificate of Achievement, Maryland Association of Psychiatric Support Services, 1997.  Senior advisor to Undersecretary for Memorial Affairs, U.S. Dept. of Veterans Affairs, 2001-.
