Biography:

Born in Baltimore, Maryland, December 5, 1938.  Attended Douglas Senior High School; University of Maryland, B.A., 1973; The Johns Hopkins University, M.Ed., 1979.  Married; two children.  Died May 10, 2011, in Baltimore, Maryland.

General Assembly:
House of Delegates, Baltimore City, 1987-98.  Member, Constitutional and Administrative Law Committee, 1987-91; Judiciary Committee, 1991-93.  Deputy Majority Whip, 1992-94.  Member, Commerce and Government Matters Committee, 1994.  Chair, Baltimore City Delegation. Chair, House Democratic Caucus, 1995.  Member, Rules Committee; Economic Matters Committee, 1995-98; Health Insurance Subcommittee; Special Committee on Drug and Alcohol Abuse.

Private Career and Other Public Service:
Vocational evaluator-teacher, Baltimore City public school system.  Baltimore City Democratic Central Committee, 1982-86, 1994-98, re-elected 1998.  Member, Governor's Commission on Women's Health, 1993-.  President, Local 1694, American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME); Council 92, American Federation of Labor and Congress of Industrial Organizations (AFL-CIO).  Member, Maryland State Teachers Association; Baltimore Teachers Union. Member, Maryland Democratic State Central Committee; The Windsor Democratic Organization.
