Born in Valdosta, Georgia, October 24, 1958.  Attended Howard University, B.A. (history), 1982, J.D., 1986.  Married Christa Beverly;  three children.

House of Delegates, Legislative District 22B (D), Prince George's County, 1994-2003.  Member, Appropriations Committee, 1999-2003 (transportation & the environment subcommittee, 2002-2003; public safety & administration subcommittee, 2001-02; health & human resources subcommittee, 1999-2000; oversight committee on personnel, 1999-2003; oversight committee on program open space & agricultural land preservation, 1999-2003; vice-chair, capital budget subcommittee, 2001-2003); Spending Affordability Committee, 2001-2003.  Member, Environmental Matters Committee, 1994; Judiciary Committee, 1995-98 (family & juvenile law subcommittee, 1995-98); Special Committee on Drug and Alcohol Abuse, 1995-99.
