Born December 25, 1929, in Navasota, Texas.  Attended Huston Tillotson College, B.A, 1949.  Married; one child.  Died January 26, 2013, in Baltimore, Maryland.

General Assembly:
House of Delegates, Prince George's County, 1982-94.  Assistant majority floor leader, 1994.  Member, Economic Matters Committee; Worker's Compensation Subcommittee; Joint Committee on Administrative, Executive and Legislative Review; Joint Committee on Federal Relations; Joint Committee on Protocol.  Chair, Maryland Legislative Black Caucus, 1991-92.

Private Career and Other Public Service:
Teacher.  Member, Task Force to Study Home Improvement Laws, 1983-84; Task Force on Teen Pregnancy, 1984-85.  Delegate, Democratic Party National Conventions, 1980, 1984.  Member, Oxon Hill Democratic Club; John Hanson Women's Club; Southern PG Business and Professional Women's Club; Prince George's County Education Association; Maryland State Teachers Association; National Education Association.  Member, Phi Delta Kappa; Delta Sigma Theta; Top Ladies of Distinction; NAACP.  Board member, National Conference of Christians and Jews; PG Mental Health Association; Southern Christian Leadership Conference; Center for Community Development.  Founder, honorary member, PG Coalition on Black Affairs.  Awards: NAACP; PG County Educators on Minority Affairs; Delta Sigma Theta; The Links, Inc.; National Hook Up of Black Women; PG Coalition on Black Affairs; Samuel Chase Elementary School PTA; Bethlehem Baptist Church Women's Club.
