Born in Denver, Colorado, September 13, 1935.  Attended Glenbard High School, Glen Ellyn, Illinois; Carleton College, Northfield, Minnesota, B.A., 1957; University of Copenhagen, 1957-58.

General Assembly:
House of Delegates,  Howard County, 1983-89.  Member, Appropriations Committee; Vice-chair, Subcommittee on Education and Human Resources; chair, Subcommittee on Personnel.  Member, Joint Budget and Audit Committee.

Private Career and Other Public Service:
Chair, Howard County Board of Education, 1979-81; member, 1973-83.  Member, Education Accountability Task Force, 1984-88; Advisory Education Committee, Education Consolidation and Improvement Act, 1981-83, 1986; Task Force to Study State-Local Fiscal Relationships, 1979-81.  President, Women Legislators of Maryland.  Executive director, Maryland Association of Non-Public Special Education Facilities, 1985-.  President, Maryland Association of Boards of Education, 1979-80.  Member, Schools for Success & Goals 2000 Advisory Panel, 1996-97; Strategic Committee on the State Plan for Higher Education, 1999-2000.  Honorary member, Delta Kappa Gamma.  Member, Howard County and Prince George's County League of Women Voters; Soroptimist International; BPW; AAUW.
