Biography:

Born December 31, 1929, in Baltimore, Maryland.  Daughter of John and Mabel (O'Brien) Murphy.  Attended Catonsville Senior High School; Catonsville Community College.  Three children.  Died December 30, 2011, in Baltimore, Maryland.

General Assembly:
Member, House of Delegates, Legislative District 12 (Baltimore County), Baltimore County, 1983-89 (first woman elected to represent District 12).  Democrat. House majority whip.  Member, Legislative Policy Committee.  Senate, Legislative District 12 (D), 1989-94.  Member, Judicial Proceedings Committee, 1989-90, 1992-94; Joint Committee on Administrative, Executive and Legislative Review, 1994; Joint Committee on Protocol; Budget and Taxation Committee, 1991; Joint Subcommittee on State's Capital Program, 1991-92; Special Joint Committee on the Medical Assistance Program.
