Born in Hagerstown, February 19, 1934.  Attended Hagerstown public schools; Washington and Lee University, B.A., 1956; University of Maryland Law School, LL.B., 1958.  Admitted to the Maryland Bar, 1958.  Married.

General Assembly:
House of Delegates, Washington County, 1963-67.  Member, Judiciary Committee.

Private Career and Other Public Service:
Special agent, Federal Bureau of Investigation, 1959-60.  Trial magistrate, Hagerstown, 1967-69.  Assistant state's attorney, Washington County, 1984-88.  Deputy state's attorney, Washington County, 1988-93.  Associate judge, District Court of Maryland, District 11, Washington County, 1993-2003.  Member, executive committee, 1996-98, and Mental Health, Alcoholism and Addiction Committee, 1994-98, Maryland Judicial Conference.  Member, Judicial Education Committee, District Court of Maryland, 1995-97.  Member, Washington County, Maryland State and American Bar Associations; National District Attorneys Association.
