Biography:

Born August 4, 1927, Fort Gaines, Georgia. Attended Morris Brown College; Atlanta University; American University. Baptist. Married to Geneva Holloway (September 16, 1950). Two children; Sylvania Woods, Jr. (b. 1954); Sebrena W. Woods (b. 1967). Died June 21, 1997, Lanham, Maryland.

Associate Judge, Prince George's County Circuit Court, 7th Judicial Circuit, February 7, 1994 to June 21, 1997.  Associate Judge, District Court of Maryland, District 5, Prince George's County, 1976-94.  Served in U.S. Navy, 1943-45. Morris Brown College, Atlanta, B.A., 1949; Atlanta University; American University School of Law, J.D., 1960. Admitted to Maryland Bar, 1969. Member, Washington, District of Columbia and Prince George's County Bar Associations. Vice-Chair, Prince George's County Democratic Party; regional vice-chair, Maryland State
Democratic Party, 1974-76. Judge advocate, American Legion, Department of Maryland, 1975.
