Insurance executive served as a state delegate from 1986 to 1994

 Walter Ray Huff Jr., an insurance executive and former state delegate, died Monday of pancreatic cancer at Baltimore Washington Medical Center. The longtime Pasadena resident was 72.

Mr. Huff was born and raised in Washington, where he graduated from Theodore Roosevelt High School in 1953.

He served in the Navy from 1953 to 1956.

In 1960, Mr. Huff established W. Ray Huff & Associates, a Pasadena insurance agency.

He had not retired at his death, family members said.

His professional memberships included the Anne Arundel County Independent Insurance Agents, and Life Underwriters.

Mr. Huff was a member of the Stoney Creek, Roland Terrace and Lake Shore Democratic clubs, and he served in the House of Delegates from 1986 to 1994.

He had served as secretary and treasurer of the Anne Arundel County Housing Authority and was a member of the Glen Burnie Chamber of Commerce and the Pasadena Business Association.

Mr. Huff was an active member of Harundale Presbyterian Church, 1020 Eastway, Glen Burnie, where services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday.

Surviving are his wife of 38 years, the former Nancy Parrish; two sons, Michael R. Huff of Glen Burnie and David C. Huff of Pasadena; two daughters, Deborah A. Williams of Annapolis and Nancy A. Nicklow of Pasadena; a sister, Joyce Lofmark of Marblehead, Mass.; 10 grandchildren; and a great-grandson.
