Born in Washington, D.C., October 22, 1946. Attended District of Columbia Teacher's College, B.S., 1971; University of Maryland; George Washington University, M.S., 1975, Ed.D., 1984. Two children.

1987-90. Member, Economic Matters Committee; Special Committee on
Drug and Alcohol Abuse. Chair, Legislative Committee, Women's Legislative
Caucus. Secretary, Legislative Black Caucus. Coordinator, Minority
Enterprise Conference for Legislative Black Caucus Business Roundtable.
