Edward Johnson (b. circa 1836 - d. ?)
MSA SC 3520-5518
USCT Soldier, Talbot County, Maryland

Biography:

Edward Johnson was born around 1836 in Talbot County, Maryland.

Enlisted as a private in Company C of the 19th regiment on December 19, 1863 and was discharged on December 19, 1866.
Edward suffered from a wounded left leg, rheumatism, and general debility.
He became a resident of Cecilton in Cecil County, Maryland after the war.
One pension application suggests that Edward was killed while on picket duty.  There is no mention of him in the bounty rolls, but there is on page 214 of history and volunteers that he died on December 4, 1864.
However, there is a pension file stating that he moved to Cecil County after the war and that he was honorably discharged at Baltimore, Maryland on December 19, 1866.
There was a Edward Johnson in the same company and regiment from Calvert County, so it could be him they are referring to.
