Biography:

Born James Cooke Morton, Jr.,  March 7, 1913, in Baltimore, Maryland. Attended Franklin Day School; Severn School; Johns Hopkins University, 1934; University of Maryland School of Law, 1937. Admitted to Maryland Bar, 1937. Episcopalian. Married Hildreth Kempton. Two daughters: Hildreth Bradford (Morton) Clagett; Ann Welsh.(Morton) Drenner. Died August 1, 1990.

Associate, Piper, Cary & Hall, 1937-1939. Counsel, U.S. Treasury Department, 1939-1943; Lieutenant, U.S. Coast Guard Reserve, 1943-1946. House of Delegates, Anne Arundel County, 1939-1946.
