Biography:

Born in Delmar, Maryland, July 19, 1921.  Son of John Frank Long, Sr. and Mary Anna Parker Long.  Attended Salisbury and Delmar public schools; Paynter Business School.  Married; five children.  Died November 1, 2008, in Salisbury, Maryland.  Buried at Wicomico Memorial Park, Salisbury, Maryland.

General Assembly:
House of Delegates, Wicomico County, 1963-78.  Chair, Wicomico County Delegation, 1967-78.  Chair, Subcommittee on Labor and Management of Economic Matters Committee, 1968-78.  Chair, Joint Governor's Commission on Study of Mobile Homes, 1976-81.  Senate, District 36, 1979-86.  Member, Judicial Proceedings Committee.

Private Career and Other Public Service:
Served in U.S. Air Force, 1942-46.  Retired electrician.  Member, Salisbury City Council, 1958-62.  Member, Governor's Commission to Study Public Employee Labor Relations; Governor's Commission to Study the Revision of Child Labor Laws; Governor's Advisory Committee on Elevators. Vice-chair, Joint Committee to Study the State Economy.  President, Young Democratic Club of Wicomico County, 1960-61.  Member, Bi-State Chesapeake Bay Commission, 1981-83.  Member, Democratic Club of Wicomico County; Salisbury Democratic Committee; Farm Bureau; Moose; American Legion.
