Biography:

Born in Baltimore, Maryland, October 29, 1932.  Son of John Edward and Blanche (Zimmerman) Coolahan.  Attended Mount Saint Joseph High School; Western Maryland College, B.A., 1958; University of Baltimore Law School, LL.B., 1967, J.D.  Admitted to the Maryland Bar, 1972.  Married to Joanna Sakievich; five children. Died December 30, 2012, in Baltimore, Maryland. 

General Assembly:
House of Delegates, Baltimore County, 1967-70.  Senate, District 13, 1971-78, District 12, 1983-89.  Chair, Baltimore County Delegation, 1973, 1975, 1983-86.  Member, Judicial Proceedings Committee; Executive Nominations Committee.  Member, Joint Study Committee on School Construction.

Private Career and Other Public Service:
Sergeant in U.S. Marine Corps, 1951-54; awarded Purple Heart, Good Conduct Medal, Korean Service Citation.  Attorney.  Associate judge, District Court, Baltimore County, District 8, 1989-94.  Member, Task Force to Study Home Improvement Laws; Task Force on Mentally Ill Offenders.  Member, English Counsul Democratic Club; Arbutus Social Club; Knights of Columbus; VFW; Legislative Committee of the American Legion. Member, Society of Senates Past.
