Biography:

Born in Philadelphia, June 30, 1907.  Attended Baltimore public schools; City College; University of Baltimore, LL.B., 1929.  Admitted to the Maryland bar, 1930.  Married Harriet Glasser, November 24, 1938; children Jonathan, Richard.  Died November 11, 2001.

General Assembly:
Senate, Legislative District 5 (D), Baltimore City, 1968-70.  Member, Judicial Proceedings Committee.

Private Career and Other Public Service:
Practiced law in the firm of Azrael, Gann & Franz, Towson, Maryland.  Member, Zoning Board of Baltimore City, 1942-47; Democratic State Central Committee for the 4th District, 1944-56; Board of Municipal Zoning and Appeals, 1947-62.  Member, Maryland and Baltimore City Bar Associations.  Grand Counselor to Independent Order B'rith Sholem.  Member, Jewish Big Brother League; Chizuk Amuno congregation, Stevenson; Bonnie View Country Club (founding member, 1952).  Founding director, Children's Cancer Fund; Edward and Harriet Azrael Scholarship Fund, University of Baltimore School of Law.
