Mary Wallace Veazey (1789-1867)

First Lady of Maryland, 1836-1839


Mary Wallace was the daughter of Elizabeth Black Wallace and Dr. Joseph Wallace of Elkton, in Baltimore County.  On September 24, 1812, she married twice-widowed Thomas Ward Veazey in Cecil County, Maryland.

Thomas Ward Veazey is buried along with his three wives at his farm called "Cherry Grove" in Cecil County, Maryland.  Several of his children are also buried there.
