TWELFTH GENERATION


3872. Isaac Nichols (59)(370) died in 1695 in Stratford, Connecticut. He was born in England. Isaac Nichols was a prosperous merchnat and possibly a shipbuilder of Stratford. He owned much real estate in the vicinity. He was an original patentee of Stratford and served as a deputy to the General Court in May 1662 and in Oct 1664. He is described in the history of Stratford as a "substantial and prominent citizen."

Among the provisions of his will is the interesting bequest "Concerning my Indian servant George, I give him yo my wife during her natural life."

It is an interesting statistical oddity that three of Isaac Nichols's eleven children (27.7%) were born on Feb 2. He was married to Margerie ---------- Possibly Feb 25, 1646/7 in Possibly Stratford, Connecticut.

3873. Margerie ----------(59). Children were:

child ii. Sarah Nichols was born on Nov 1 1649.
child iii. Josiah Nichols was born on Jan 29 1652/53. He died on Jun 25 1692.

child v. Jonathan Nichols was born on Dec 10 1655. He died in 1689.
child vi. Ephraim Nichols was born on Dec 15 1657. He died in 1692.
child vii. Patience Nichols was born on Feb 2 1660/61.
child viii. Temperance Nichols was born on May 17 1662.
child ix. Margery Nichols was born on Nov 30 1663.
child x. Benjamin Nichols was born on Feb 2 1666/67. He died possibly 1713.
child xi. Elizabeth Nichols was born on Apr 2 1668.
