ELEVENTH GENERATION

1952. Thomas Whittemore ⁽³¹⁾ was born about Jan 1593 in Hitchin, Hertfordshire, England. He died on May 26 1661 in Malden, Massachusetts. Thomas Whittemore came to Massachusetts in 1639, bringing with him his wife and their three living sons. His eldest daughter, by his first wife, if she lived, remained in England, as did the two children by his second wife. As far as is known they never emigrated.

He was a farmer and he carved a farm out of the wilderness in Malden, now Everett, about three miles from Boston. This farm remained in the Whittemore family until it was sold, more than two hundred years later, in 1845.

He left an estate that was inventoried at 286 pounds 15 shillings and six pence. He was married to Hannah Chawkley on Oct 26 1632 in Hitchin, Hertfordshire, England.

1953. Hannah Chawkley died after Jul 8 1666. Children were:

i. Daniel Whittemore⁽³¹⁾ was born before Jul 31 1633. He died on May 11 1683.
ii. John Whittemore⁽³¹⁾ was born before Apr 27 1635. He died on Apr 29 1635.
iii. Nathaniel Whittemore⁽³¹⁾ was born before May 1 1636. He died in Nov 1671.
iv. John Whittemore⁽³¹⁾ was born before Feb 11 1638/39. He died on Dec 8 1694.
v. Benjamin Whittemore⁽³¹⁾ was born in 1640. He died on Jul 16 1726.
vi. Elizabeth Whittemore⁽³¹⁾ was born after 1643. She died after 1661.
vii. Thomas Whittemore⁽³¹⁾ was born about 1645. He died on Mar 10 1670.
976 viii. Samuel Whittemore.
ix. Peletiah Whittemore⁽³¹⁾ was born about 1650. He died in Jan 1679.
x. Abraham Whittemore⁽³¹⁾ was born in 1653. He died on Jan 14 1691.
