ELEVENTH GENERATION


1920. William Torrey (2) was born in 1638 in Probably Combe St. Nicholas, Somerset, England. He died on Jan 11 1717/18 in Weymouth, Massachusetts. William Torrey was a prosperous farmer in Weymouth all his life, and left an estate valued at 1336 pounds, 8 shillings and 8 pence, a not inconsiderable sum for his time and place. His wife received a legacy of "sixteen pounds in current New England money" from her father.

of His Age He was married to Deborah Greene about 1669.

1921. Deborah Greene was born on Aug 10 1649 in Warwick, Rhode island. She died on Feb 8 1728/29 in Weymouth, Massachusetts. Children were:

child i. William Torrey was born on Sep 14 1670. He died before 1699.
child960 ii. Lieutenant John Torrey.
child iii. Samuel Torrey was born in 1675. He died on Sep 6 1748.
child iv. Joseph Torrey was born about 1678. He died on Apr 24 1723.
child v. Philip Torrey was born on May 2 1681. He died on Mar 13 1754.
child vi. Haviland Torrey was born in 1684. He died on Mar 29 1750.
child vii. Josiah Torrey was born on Sep 19 1686. He died on Aug 16 1706.
child viii. Jane Torrey was born about 1689. She died on Jan 24 1729/30.
