442. Thomas Clagett (54)(114) was born on Feb 12 1740. He died on Dec 26 1792 in Piscataway, Maryland. Thomas Clagett was a merchant according to his tombstone but also possessed much land. Upon the settlement of his estate in 1798, his properties, with the wonderfully evocative names of Something, Merry Thought Enlarged, God's Gift, Apple Door, Rome, Never Fear, Hazard, Marlow's Resurvey (914 acres), Two Johns, and Lanham's Folly wewre appraised at 7750 pounds, 1 shillings. His house and two acres in Piscataway were appraised at 2000 pounds.

The tombstone of Thomas Clagett reads, "Here lie the remains of Thomas Clagett of Piscataway, merchant who departed this life December 27, 17[indecipherable, but known to be 92] in the 52nd year of his age. he was a man who could not be known without being loved; who when living was disesteemed by none but when he is dead, is lamented by all." He was married to Mary Meek Magruder on Oct 11 1768.

443. Mary Meek Magruder (54) died in 1809. Children were:

child iv. Hannibal Clagett(54) was born on Oct 20 1782. He died after Aug 7 1809.

child vii. Hector Clagett(54) was born on Apr 9 1780.
