74. Rep. Thomas Scott was born in 1739 in Chester, Pennsylvania. He died in 1796 in Washington, Pennsylvania. He was buried in Old Graveyard, Walnut, Pennsylvania. He was adopted in Washington Cemetery, Washington, Pennsylvania. Thomas Scott attended rural schools in Chester County and studied law. Admitted to the bar he practiced law and moved to Westmoreland, Pennsylvania, in 1770. He was made a justice of the peace in 1773.

He served in the first Pennsylvania Assembly in 1776 and in the Supreme Council in 1777. He was the first prothonotary in Washington County, serving from 1781 to 1789 and was made a justice in that county in 1786.

He was a member of the Pennsylvania convention that ratified the U. S. Constitution and was a member of the 1st and 3rd United States Congresses. He was married to Jean ---------- about 1758.

75. Jean ---------- died after Nov 1793. Children were:
