8 1811 in Charleston, South Carolina. Alexander Edwards was a lawyer, being
admitted to the bar in 1787. In 1796 he was appointed recorder of the city, a
post he held until his death.
On April 2 1806 he bought 397 acres of former Perroneau land at Goose Creek,
South Carolina. He was married to Mary Desaussure on May 22 1793 in Charleston,
South Carolina.
