Bethiah Torrey was baptized on Mar 9 1761.240. John Torrey
(2) was born on Aug 14 1734 in Boston, Massachusetts.
He died on Feb 9 1808 in Boston, Massachusetts. John Torrey was baptised at
the First Church of Boston, but he joined the West Chruch on Oct 3 1773. He carried
on his father's baking business as well as other business interests and appears
to have spent considerable time in Montreal around the time of the outbreak of
the American Revolution.
The family story is that when his son William joined the American army--William
was a teenager at the time--his father set off after him to bring him back, but
instead joined the army himself as a quartermaster. He was married to Susannah
Bowditch on Jan 12 1758 in Boston, Massachusetts.

Susannah Bowditch was born on May 19 1733 in Braintree,
Massachusetts. She died before Oct 1 1766. Children were:
