Biography:

Born March 17, 1771.  Son of Col. John Dorsey and Mary Hammond Dorsey.  Married Hopewell Hebb, July 8, 1795; eight children: Robert, Vernon Hebb, John R., Edwin H., Elizabeth, Anna Maria, Hopewell, and Emily.  Died July 31, 1823, in Philadelphia.

House of Delegates, St. Mary's County, 1794. House of Delegates, Baltimore City, 1797. Appointed chief judge of the Court of Oyer and Terminer for Baltimore City and County, February 9, 1800. Governor's Council, 1812-13. Judge, Court of Appeals, 1817-23
