Biography:

Born Lansdale Ghiselin Sasscer, September 30, 1893, in Upper Marlboro, Maryland.  Son of Frederick and Lucy (Clagett) Sasscer.  Attended Central High School, Washington, D.C.; Jacob Tome School, Port Deposit, Maryland; Dickinson College Law School, 1914.  Admitted to the Maryland bar, 1914.  Married Agnes Coffren, February 15, 1919; three children: Agnes, Lucy, and Lansdale Ghiselin, Jr. Died November 5, 1964, in Upper Marlboro, Maryland.  Buried at Trinity Episcopal Church Cemetery, Upper Marlboro, Maryland.

General Assembly:
Maryland Senate, Prince George's County, 1922-37.  President of the Senate, 1935-37.

Private Career and Other Public Service:
Lawyer. Member, Motor Vehicle Uniform Laws Commission, 1929-32.  U.S. Representative, 1939-51.
