William Shepard Bryan, Jr. (1859-1914)

Biography:

Born in Baltimore City, December 23, 1859.  Son of William Shepard Bryan and Elizabeth Edmondson (Hayward) Bryan.  Attended Bethel Military Academy, Farquier County, Virginia; University of Virginia, graduated 1879.  Studied law under his father.  Admitted to the bar, 1882.  Unmarried.  Resided in Mt. Royal Apartments, Baltimore.  Died in Baltimore, April 3, 1914.  Buried in Green Mount Cemetery, Baltimore.

Engaged in the private practice of law.  Appointed counsel to the Baltimore City board of election supervisors, 1890-92.  Baltimore City attorney, 1892; city counselor, 1892; city solicitor, 1892-96.  Attorney General of Maryland, 1903-07.  Presidential elector, 1913.
