IMMIGRATED: in 1650 as a free adult with his wife.
RESIDED: in Poplar Hill Hundred, St. Mary's County.
MARRIED Dorcas (?-by 1668).
CHILDREN. SON: John. DAUGHTERS: Jane, who married first, Thomas Wright (?-ca. 1673), second, (first name unknown) Ryder of Poplar Hill Hundred, and third, Thomas Long (?-1691); Dorcas, who married Peter Carwardin.

EDUCATION: literate.
RELIGIOUS AFFILIATION: Protestant.
SOCIAL STATUS AND ACTIVITIES: arrived with three servants; Mr., upon arrival; Gent., by 1668.

LEGISLATIVE SERVICE: Parliamentary Commission, 1654-1657/58.
OTHER PROVINCIAL OFFICE: justice, Provincial Court, 1654-1657/58.
LOCAL OFFICES: justice, St. Mary's County, in office 1661, 1663, 1664, and 1666; sheriff, St. Mary's County, 1665-1666; coroner, St. Mary's County, 1665.

LAND AT FIRST ELECTION: ca. 500 acres. 

WEALTH AT DEATH.
DIED: by July 2, 1668, in St. Mary's County. 
PERSONAL PROPERTY: TEV, at least 17,815 pounds of tobacco (including 1 servant).
