Kent Ss To ye Worshipfull ye Comissrs of Kent County Court now in Court Sitting The Humble peticon of Mary Bryant Sheweth that yr. peticoner having Served her time wth. Mr. Anthoney Workeman and being free from him this Considerable time past prayes yr. Worships that She may have an order for her Corne & Cloathes According to Act of Assembly in that Case made & provided & yr. peticonr. Shall Ever pray Which petition being read & by ye Court duly considered Ordered Therefore yt. ye Said Mary Bryant have an order according to peticon and it was further ordered that ye Said freedom dues when recd. be given into ye Custody of Mr. Stephen Boardley wth. whom ye Said Mary is now a Servant & by him to be redelivered to her at ye Expiracon of her time of Servitude Jno Dowdall Clk Joshua Sweatnam having peticoned this Court formerly to be Admitted as an Attry which peticon was Granted and now here at this day ye Said Joshua moves ye Court that he may be Sworne which was granted & ye Said Joshua was Sworne in due forme Giles Bond comes into Court & proves A bond passed by Richard Parnes late of this County Decd. to Peregrine Browne of London Merchant for ye Sume of thirteen Thousand Eight hundred Thirty & Eight pounds of Tobo. Capt. Thomas Ringgold Sitts at ye Appearance of Doquett Calling Coll Hynson & Leiut. Coll. Smith absent Thomas Browne being prsented by ye Grand jury last march Court & ye Said prsentmt. Signed billa vera ye Said prsentment was framed into A bill of Indictment as followeth vizt. Kent Ss The Jurors for our Soveraigne Lord ye King that now is for ye bodie of Kent County upon theire oathes doe prsent Thomas Browne for that he ye Said Thomas Browne ye Twenty Second day of March Anno 1700 At Towne hundred in Kent County within ye jurisdiction of this Court by force & armes Two Young Mares of ye price of nine hundred & fifty pounds of Tobo. ye proper Mares of A person unknowne did feloniously Steale & beare away against ye peace of our Soveraigne Lord ye King and at. ye form of ye Act of Assembly in that Case made provided Macklin pr Doms. Rege Not Guilty pr patriam pr pr And he who followes for our Lord ye King Sayes he is guilty Macklin pr Doms. Rege Comand was therefore given to ye Sherf. of Kent County yt he cause to come here Twelve &a. by whom &a. who neither &a. to recognize &a. who made Answer he had there ready Twelve &a. as by his precept he was Comanded vizt.
