Honorable Thomas Hunter Lowe
Speaker of the House of Delegates
State House
Annapolis, Maryland
Dear Mr. Speaker:
In accordance with Article II, Section 17, of the Maryland Constitution,
I have today vetoed House Bill 1564.
This bill exempts certain nonprofit housing corporations making pay-
ments in lieu of taxes from payment of property taxes.
Senate Bill 1042, which was enacted by the General Assembly and
signed by me on May 21, 1973, accomplishes the same purposes as House
Bill 1564.
Therefore, it is unnecessary for me to sign House Bill 1564.
Sincerely,
MARVIN MANDEL,
Governor.
Read and journalized.
House Bill No. 1564—By Delegate Kent:

Article 44A of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1971 Replacement
Volume), title "Housing Authorities," subtitle "In General"; to repeal
and re-enact, with amendments, Section 9(e) of Article 81 of said Code
