988                                        LAWS OF MARYLAND                            [Ch. 4

A FORM FURNISHED BY THE BUREAU, THE WRITTEN CONSENT OF
THE LANDOWNER FOR THE OPERATOR OR THE STATE OR ANY OF
ITS AUTHORIZED AGENTS, TO ENTER ON ANY LAND AFFECTED
BY THE OPERATOR WITHIN A PERIOD OF FIVE YEARS AFTER
THE OPERATION IS COMPLETED OR ABANDONED, FOR THE
PURPOSE OF BACKFILLING, PLANTING, RECLAMATION, AND
INSPECTION.

(H) NONCOMPLIANCE.--THE BUREAU MAY NOT ISSUE AN

ADDITIONAL PERMIT TO AN OPERATOR WHO, UNDER ANY PERMIT
PREVIOUSLY ISSUED, HAS FAILED, OR CONTINUES TO FAIL,
TO COMPLY WITH ANY PROVISIONS OF THIS SUBTITLE.

(I) ISSUANCE OF PERMIT; REQUIREMENTS FOR
ADDITIONAL PERMITS.—IF THE REQUIREMENTS OF THIS
SUBTITLE ARE MET AND NO CLAIM IS OUTSTANDING UNDER
THIS SUBTITLE AGAINST THE OPERATOR, OR ANY OFFICES OR
DIRECTOR OF A CORPORATION, A PERMIT SHALL BE ISSUED.
ANY ADDITIONAL PERMIT IS SUBJECT TO EACH REQUIREMENT
FOR THE ORIGINAL PERMIT.

as Article 66C, section 662(g) of the Code.

(J) DISAPPROVAL OF APPLICATION.—IF THE DIRECTOR
OF THE BUREAU DOES NOT APPROVE EITHER THE APPLICATION
FOR A PERMIT OR ANY AMENDED APPLICATION, HE PROMPTLY
SHALL NOTIFY THE OPERATOR BY REGISTERED OR CERTIFIED
MAIL SETTING FORTH HIS REASONS FOR THE DISAPPROVAL.
THE OPERATOR THEN MAY TAKE THE STEPS REQUIRED TO HAVE
THE BUREAU'S OBJECTIONS REMOVED.

7-506. BOND OR DEPOSIT GENERALLY; ADDITIONAL BOND;
AMENDMENT OF PERMIT; EFFECT OF PRIOR FORFEITURE OF
BOND OR OF FAILURE TO PAY ROYALTIES AND WAGES.

(A) GENERALLY.--AFTER RECEIVING NOTIFICATION
