CASE OF A FIRE IN THE STATION.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This subsection presently appears
as Article 66C, section 615(b) of the Code.
The only changes made are in style.

(C)    EXAMINATION AFTER BLASTING; DUTY OF
DISCOVERER OF FIRE.— AFTER EVERY BLASTING OPERATION,
AN EXAMINATION SHALL BE MADE TO DETERMINE IF ANY FIRE
HAS STARTED. IF A FIRE OCCURS, THE PERSON DISCOVERING
IT AND ANY PERSON IN ITS VICINITY PROMPTLY SHALL
ATTEMPT TO EXTINGUISH IT. IF THE PERSON CANNOT
EXTINGUISH THE FIRE, HE IMMEDIATELY SHALL REPORT ITS
EXISTENCE TO A COMPETENT OFFICIAL OF THE MINE. THE
OFFICIAL SHALL ORDER ALL WORKERS FROM THAT PART OF THE
MINE AFFECTED BY THE FIRE, EXCEPT THOSE NEEDED FOR
FIRE FIGHTING.

(D)   FIRE OUT OF CONTROL; SUPERVISION OF FIRE
FIGHTING.—-IF THE FIRE GETS OUT OF CONTROL, WORKERS
SHALL BE WITHDRAWN AND THE WHOLE OR PART OF THE MINE
WHICH IS AFFECTED SHALL BE SEALED OR FLOODED, AS
CONDITIONS REQUIRE. EVERY FIRE-FIGHTING OPERATION IS
UNDER THE DIRECT SUPERVISION OF THE MINE FOREMAN OR A
DESIGNATED ASSISTANT WHO SHALL CONSULT WITH THE
DISTRICT MINE INSPECTOR.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This subsection presently appears
as Article 66C, section 615(d) of the Code.
The final sentence has been transferred to
section 7-448 since it is not germane to
the provisions of this subsection. The
only other changes made are in style.

(E)        UNDERGROUND              STRUCTURES.—UNDERGROUND
STRUCTURES, SUCH AS           TRANSFORMER STATIONS,
BATTERY-CHARGING STATIONS,    MOTOR GENERATOR STATIONS,
FOREMEN'S STATIONS, SUBSTATIONS, AND PERMANENT PUMP
ROOMS, SHALL BE OF           FIREPROOF CONSTRUCTION.
FIREPROOFING MATERIAL IN   CONTACT WITH TIMBER OR COAL
SHALL NOT BE METAL.
